The nature of music discovery is at an all time low. With just about every song ever published at your fingertips it can be overwhelming trying to figure out what to listen to next. This dilemma leads many people to take a passive approach to music discovery, relying mostly on their chosen streaming service to present them with new music.

The name Show Up for the Opener speaks to the importance of taking an active approach to discovering new music; the act of making an effort to arrive to a show on time and see what the opening act is all about—not just because it's good to support, but because you might love what you hear. As such, our newsletter is intended to be just one in a number of more effective, more human ways to discover new music for yourself. After all, music is personal and so should the act of discovering it be too.
